pub enum Message {
Text(String),
Binary(Vec<u8>),
Ping(Vec<u8>),
Pong(Vec<u8>),
Close(Option<CloseFrame<'static>>),
Frame(Frame),
}
Expand description
A WebSocket message.
A value of this type is typically constructed by calling .into()
on a
supported message type. This includes strings via &str
and String
and
bytes via &[u8]
and Vec<u8>
:
#[get("/echo")]
fn echo_stream(ws: ws::WebSocket) -> ws::Stream!['static] {
ws::Stream! { ws =>
yield "Hello".into();
yield String::from("Hello").into();
yield (&[1u8, 2, 3][..]).into();
yield vec![1u8, 2, 3].into();
}
}
Other kinds of messages can be constructed directly:
#[get("/echo")]
fn echo_stream(ws: ws::WebSocket) -> ws::Stream!['static] {
ws::Stream! { ws =>
yield ws::Message::Ping(vec![b'h', b'i'])
}
}
An enum representing the various forms of a WebSocket message.
Variants§
Text(String)
A text WebSocket message
Binary(Vec<u8>)
A binary WebSocket message
Ping(Vec<u8>)
A ping message with the specified payload
The payload here must have a length less than 125 bytes
Pong(Vec<u8>)
A pong message with the specified payload
The payload here must have a length less than 125 bytes
Close(Option<CloseFrame<'static>>)
A close message with the optional close frame.
Frame(Frame)
Raw frame. Note, that you’re not going to get this value while reading the message.
Implementations§
source§impl Message
impl Message
sourcepub fn binary<B>(bin: B) -> Message
pub fn binary<B>(bin: B) -> Message
Create a new binary WebSocket message by converting to Vec<u8>
.
sourcepub fn is_empty(&self) -> bool
pub fn is_empty(&self) -> bool
Returns true if the WebSocket message has no content. For example, if the other side of the connection sent an empty string.

source§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self
with the foreground set to

.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red()

, which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg()
:
use yansi::{Paint, Color};

.
The clear()
method will be removed in a future release.source§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the Condition
value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted
only when both stdout

are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
